A farmer’s market in Japan’s southern island of Kyushu is said to be the pioneer of local food movement in Japan. Items from over seven hundred local farmers are sold here, and produce is known for its taste and lack of chemical fertilizers and pesticides. Markets like these are cropping up more throughout Japan as an answer to growing demand for safe agricultural products.
